Encounter

Tom was ready for bed as usual, the tangles he'd accumulated over the day combed from his hair, his teeth brushed, face washed, pajamas on. Lying in his bed, staring at the dark ceiling as he usually did, he began to think as is typical of most beings. When given time, those who know how to use it, begin to remember or predict their futures. Tom was no special case. He began thinking of a girl he had often played around with. A lover? Eh, he'd have liked that. But when she was interested in him, he hadn't been, and by the time he came around, she had moved on. Funny how karma came back to bite Tom on more than one occasion...But that never seemed to interrupt his string of lovers from growing, no matter how much it had shrunk.

He remembered the girl, feisty as ever. His favorite. She had been taunting him..

"Tom, doesn't it smell good?" The girl grinned up at Tom, flashing her infamous big eyes at him. Tom responded with a soft chuckle

"Does what smell good?" to this comment, the girl grinned "My blood. You must be starving, not having drunken it for such a long time, am I right?" She let out a soft laugh, her previously gentle eyes turning mischievous like they often did when she was plotting. Tom knew what she wanted by now, she often played upon the fact that he was a vampire. He didn't like drinking blood, he found no joy in it and he didn't need it to survive, candy was an even better substitute, and the girl knew that as well...But she always tried to get Tom wound up over blood.

"I don't really want to get close enough to smell your blood. It might end badly for me." He smiled, running his fingers through his hair. He was serious, but he said it in a calm manner so it wouldn't set the girl off.

"Come on...Just a taste.." He girl grinned, pulling her pocket knife from her belt loop and lightly cutting into her wrist. She held it closer to Tom's face, Tom quickly getting alarmed. "Don't put that there!" He snapped, baking up.

The girl laughed "Come on, I know you want to. Dive it! I'm strong, I'll be fine." She smiled up at him. "I can always make more, you know." Tom wrinkled his nose, trying to block the smell out.

Tom didn't remember exactly what happened after that point...But he did remember giving in, slipping his fangs into the girl's inviting wrist and then later her neck...And he would always remember the girl never getting upset... Cooing at him: "You're so gentle, Tommy." he frowned..He shouldn't have turned that girl down the first time she said she liked him..
